While Cost Rica is a well-known name in quality coffee not all of its crop can be considered specialty or gourmet, in fact less than 3% of its production are trully this kind.

 

Coffee flavor and Quality are first defined by altitude, soil and microclimate, this will have a deep impact in the main characteristics of each coffee.  Then the production process, harvest, if it is washed or not, mechanically dried or sundried, finally the preparation or selection process will refine the quality before roasting.

 

For more than 20 years “The Coffee Corner” has searched for producers that have the best practices and that consistently deliver the coffee most representative of a region. We also look at the sustainability practices of each to ensure we source only from responsible producers.

 

Every year we taste multiple lots to select only those that are the top coffees of each area and that will fulfill the promise of Specialty Gourmet, that our customers request. We craftily roast each batch and deliver each fresh in the level of roast preferred.
